Action Pharma A/S is an R&D-focused biotech company located in the Nordic Medicon Valley area in Copenhagen, Denmark. Action Pharma was founded in 2000 and has a pipeline of 4 drug candidates in different stages of development, plus additional compounds in discovery and early preclinical development
Action Pharma pursues the discovery and development of new drugs and treatment concepts to treat cardiovascular diseases, inflammatory diseases and metabolic diseases, such as type-II diabetes and obesity. Our drug candidates are modified endogenous peptides with improved efficacy and small chemical entities targeted the melanocortin receptors.
In disease models, our drug candidates have shown strong effects in treating and preventing inflammation and organ damage in conditions such as post-surgical organ dysfunction and acute myocardial infarction. A major focus for Action Pharma is treatment candidates for type-II diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome. Moreover, several drug candidates have shown effects in treating inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis and dermatitis.
The company has achieved the following major milestones:
- Action Pharma has a pipeline of 4 drug candidates in different stages of development, plus additional compounds in discovery and early preclinical development (see pipeline diagram).
- Our lead candidate, AP214, is currently being tested in a second phase-II clinical trial for the protection of kidney injury associated with major thoracic surgery.
- AP1189, a compound targeted inflammatory bowel disease and rheumatoid arthritis, has completed CMC, toxicology and safety programmes.
- AP405, which is targeted topical treatment of atopic dermatitis, has completed CMC, toxicology and safety programmes.
- Action Pharma has more than 90 patent and patent applications, ensuring that the company's pipeline and proprietary drug candidates rest on a strong IPR-foundation.
